Talk Topic – Intro to Communication for Change (3 hours)
Communication is a tool for powerful change. Jon will take your audience through an exploration of how us human beings have created the experiences they are having now, and how we can create what we want with full respect and appreciation for our lives as whole. Your audience will take away invaluable information they can apply immediately. Here is a message from Jon:
Often, human beings find themselves at odds with what goes on in their lives. Many think that in order to get something new, they must lose something equally valuable; “No pain no gain.” “Success means sacrifice.” “Nothing worth it comes by easy.”
You may have heard these before. And subsequently, the many transformational models promote the use of willpower; “getting over your own sh*t” and “Manning up!” so to speak. It has it’s uses. But not with the work I am presenting.
The Marin-Style Body of Change Work underpins the personal change work I share in this format. For this body of work, I honor my predecessors; Carl Buchheit (Co-founder of NLP Marin and Lead Trainer), Bob Hoffmeyer (Co-founder of NLP Marin), its forefather Jonathan Rice (PhD Clinical and Counselling Psychology), Carla Camou (NLP Seattle), Michelle Masters (NLP), and its many loving teachers, trainers, facilitators and affiliates.
Its significance cannot be overstated. What Sir Isaac Newton brought to the understanding of celestial motion, my predecessors have brought to the understanding of personal, interpersonal and professional transformation.
Aside from enabling the practitioner to truly understand the complex mechanics of how human beings create their experience, and can create the new experiences they want–the Marin-Style of change work respects the many dimensions of a human being’s unique journey called Life.
This is distinctly different from the mainstream NLP you find today, as we incorporate disciplines that stretch as far as the human imagination can take you.
(Yes. Even considered somewhat “woo woo”, while being grounded in very sensible logical material).
The philosophy is simple. It involves a deep appreciation and respect for what is present (the state of being at peace with the present state of your life), and a full embracing of a human being’s desire to pioneer new experiences in their precious art-form called Life.
So, instead of applying unworkable attempts of trying to win an arm wrestle with self–Jon strongly promotes the unification of many aspects of self. So when you are no longer at odds with self, then the many parts of self can support the direction you want to take in life.
This is PERFECT If You …
Whether you are seeking professional success, a deeper understanding of what it means to be human, or an extraordinary method for producing personal change for self and others, the Marin-Style Transformational NLP toolbox can facilitate your journey and support you in your success. Ask yourself;
- Are curious about the human construct, and how we create our experience of ourselves, other selves, and life itself?
- Do you want to understand why you aren’t getting the change you want, and how to go about getting it with grace and elegance?
- Would you love to learn how communication can be used to enhance your own experience of life?
What Will Be Covered
The following is a summary of what Jon will cover. Each talk is slightly tailored the needs and the dynamics of the audience.
- Foundational metaphors and presuppositions to bring about greater appreciation for self, other-selves and Life itself.
- The paradox of the mind, and how it can keep us stuck in areas of our lives.
- How to communicate with self and others, to get the change we want in life, without having to defeat, smash, or overcome ourselves.
